“The Race for Washington Place” was a live television debate between gubernatorial candidates Lt. Governor James “Duke” Aiona and former Congressman Neil Abercrombie on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. In an effort to increase civic participation at the polls and inform the electorate of where the candidates stand, OHA is very pleased to be able to share this important community interest event here on Na Oiwi Olino. The first half of the debate covers Native Hawaiian issues and will air on October 27, and the second half touches on topics of interest affecting state residents on October 28.
