OHA Trustee Colette Machado is the newly elected Chairperson of the OHA Board of Trustees. The vote took place during the first meeting of the Board on Dec. 21, following the swearing in of the newly elected Trustees. The transition has been a smooth one, and represents a changing of the guard in the OHA Boardroom, after almost 10 years under the steady direction of Haunani Apoliona, OHA’s longest-serving Chairperson. Machado has represented the islands of Moloka‘i and Lanai on the Board of Trustees since 1996. She is also the immediate past Chair of OHA’s Beneficiary Advocacy and Empowerment Committee.
